After a rigorous software partner selection process, NetSolutions finalized an ERP vendor for Timber Creek Resource. The software selection was initiated after NetSolutions provided a network and process assessment of Timber Creek Resource’s IT infrastructure and manufacturing methods.

NetSolutions has selected applications and implemented ERP systems for Wisconsin manufacturers as part of the p2tOptimize consulting for the last 2 years now. “With years of Six Sigma and other process methodologies experience among our consultants, software selection projects come easy for us,” said Tony Meister, COO of NetSolutions.

When implementing new business software, it is always critical to ensure the specific company requirements match the capability of the software. Timber Creek Resource is the premier supplier of custom crating and shipping containers as well as lumber distribution. This unique combination of manufacturing and distribution specific to the lumber industry made it challenging to find business software that met all the needs.

The process required a significant investment of time from several key players within the Timber Creek organization, as well as a considerable amount of research, planning, and reevaluation along the way. After interviewing the staff of Timber Creek, NetSolutions created a requirements document as well as a detailed demo script outlying the most important requirements of the software. Eventually out of a short-list of 10 vendors, there were 3 that performed demonstrations as the team scored each task based on a weighted scale of importance. The final vendor chosen was DMSi. NetSolutions will take part in the hardware set-up to ensure the software is implemented on a solid foundation.
